Web 2.0

Web 2.0 Sites to look at for creating your creative work
I would like you to take a look at 3 of the following sites and write a review for your favorite and your least favorite as a user on this blog.  I think it will be interesting to see what people think of the sites and its functionality, since each of you will have your own individual needs. You may stay in one category or try a variety of them.

Each review should include:
·                Name of program/site
·                URL
·                Purpose of the site
·                Things that you like about the photo editing tool
·                Drawbacks to the photo editing tool
·                Would you recommend this tool to a friend? Why or why not?

Audio editing Web 2.0 tools

Photo editing Web 2.0 tools

Our world is filled with images that are "photoshopped" or manipulated in some way shape or form.   The term "photoshopped" has been coined  from Adobe PhotoShop being the biggest photo editing software in both personal and professional fronts. Due to the increase of Web 2.0 tools and cloud computing,  many free photo editing sites, similar to photoshop,  have arisen.

Here are some of the sites for you to look at:
www.pixlr.com
www.anymaking.com
www.tuxpi.com
www.splashup.com
www.fotoflexer.com
www.citrify.com
www.photovisi.com

If you use something other than these programs please post a comment with the URL so that others may check it out as well and you may review it.

  2. Bitstrips!
    bitstrips.com
Purpose - Create digital comics that can convey an image or a message to the reader depending on the point of view of the comic and how the reader interprets the message. Also just for when you're bored you could create a comic on bitstrips and send it to someone and maybe give you and that person a good laugh.
I would recommend this because it is fun and easy to use.

    Zooburst!
    zooburst.com
This website seems really basic and dull in the fact that it has very limited use and very limited designs. It's more for child use instead of comics that could convey personal messages to one another. I would use this website to make a children's book, not make a comic for a website or something of that manner.
No, I would not recommend this website because it is dull and boring and you will get no fun out of using it.

    Storyjumper!
    storyjumper.com
This website, unlike many other digital comic creation websites, can be used for many various things and is one of the best digital comic creation websites I have seen in a while. I would definitely recommend this to a friend as it is very useful when it comes to making digital comics.

  4. Bitstrips!
    bitstrips.com
This is an easy and quick website to use if you are interested in creating a story in comics (or bit strip for what it is known as). But in a professional matter, this website should not be used due to the childish manners (if a comic was to be created, the comic will most likely not be taken seriously).

    www.storyjumper.com
Is another quick and easy website to use to create a story line within comics such as a cartoon, but i would still prefer to use bit strips rather than story jumper because bit strips is more easier to navigate through.

  7. My favorite website out of the bunch was "www.storyjumper.com" because it was very enjoyable and easy to use, it had many props and scenes to choose from and you are able to import your own so the options are endless. This website is perfect for creating digital comics.
Now my least favorite website was "http://lightningbug.com.au/index.htm" because it was very boring in my opinion. The whole layout of the website, the interface, the links, everything about it was just unappealing. I would not recommend this to someone trying to write a story.

  8. Alice
    www.alice.org
Its purpose is to give beginner computer programmers a first experience in programming. I like how the site gives you a basic introduction to Alice however you do have to download it. I've only watched videos about it and how it works but it seems very user friendly. I would recommend this to anyone interested in computer science as it is a great start for beginners.

    Big Huge Labs
    bighugelabs.com
The purpose of this site is to make anyone or anything into a trading card. This is so fun to use and highly user friendly. You can just go in and do it, all it requires is a bit of creativity. I would recommend this to anyone who is familiar with and likes trading cards. It is super fun to be able to make your friends/family into cards that you can collect and maybe play games with.

    author stream
    authorstream.com
This site lets you share power-points on the web. I think it is an alright site however there are other ways to upload and share power-points such as e-mail and google drive. All in all this is a meh website because it does let you see the works of other people but it does not specify on how you can do it yourself. I am sure there are other ways to share your work but limiting the usable software to only use power-points makes this site less special. I might recommend this site to someone if they have a power-point that they want to use in order promote their business, but other than that this site poses no use to me or anyone else I know.

  10. www.pixlr.com
This website is very good for photo editing because it allows you to really get into detail and make sure the photo has no flaws. It has Three sections to it, pixlr editor, pixlr express and pixler o matic. All three of these sections are very good and give you a very nice end product, however, because pixlr editor has so many little things to help you edit fine detail, it could get confusing if you do not know much about photo editing already. Overall, this was my favorite photo editing website.

    fotoflexer.com
This website was a bit more basic. It did allow you to touch up the photo, however this website is deffinately more about the filers and decoration of the photograph. This featured many different types of stickers and even animations that you can add to your photo. However when editing a photo I normally stick to the touching up and even filtering rather than putting animations on my pictures.

    picmonkey.com
This website was not on the list and I honeslty am not 100% sure how I got to it. I clicked a wrong button and ended up on the page, howevere, I found this site very helpful in editing photos. This site got very much into detail and even allowsthe editor to do things such as add lipstick ad=nd eye shadow to women in their photographs if they want to. It looks at the little things and hits almost any type of photo edit you could think of. I highly recommend this website if you are looking to do a ver detailed edit of photos, especially ones including people.
